It is not mere envy;
it is an envy that has learned to preach.

It inflicts a wound that will not heal,
a rawness that cannot endure exposure.
So it burrows downward,
past desire, past shame,
until it strikes the harder bone:

Revaluation.

What cannot be attained must be condemned.
What cannot be matched must be unmade.
Thus the strong are no longer admirable
they are oppressive.
The ordered is no longer good
it is unjust.
Flourishing becomes a crime
simply by existing.

And so the inversion proceeds, quietly at first:

Good is called cruelty
because it stands upright.
Evil is called compassion
because it kneels in ruin.

They march for justice,
yet justice is what they dismantle.
Law is recast as violence,
order as tyranny,
discipline as exclusion.

They lift up the broken
not to mend,
but to praise themselves.
They crown the transgressor,
calling it mercy,
calling it understanding.

And hatred
how carefully it is renamed.

Rage becomes moral urgency.
Destruction becomes reform.
The clenched fist
symbolizes care.

They do not build;
they corrode
like rust’s decay.

Institutions
patient accumulations
of trial, error, correction
are reduced to symbols,
then to targets,
then to ash.

And in the vacuum
nothing rises.

Only the slow entropy of the street:
tents where homes once stood,
fear where trust once moved unseen,
the quiet calculation of risk
in every ordinary act.

Yet still they speak of progress.

Because ressentiment cannot create
it can only invert.
It has no architecture,
only critique;
no vision,
only negation.

And success,
that quiet evidence of possibility
is the deepest offense of all.

It whispers,
you might have been otherwise.

So it must be despised,
reduced, explained away,
until no height remains
to cast its accusing shadow.

Ressentiment does not rest
until the world is leveled,
until nothing stands
that might remind it
of what it refused to become.

All this is done in the name
of justice and love.
