Two kids were working the lab today, drawing blood. One was a young girl who appeared neat and intelligent. The other looked like a stoner kid, not even a man yet, with long curly hair and may have slept in his clothes. I prayed, please let it not be him. Well, fate is hilarious.

It turns out that the kid knew his stuff and had social skills. He cracked me up when he admitted he gets queezy at the sight of his own blood, but is perfectly fine with other people’s blood.

I told him about a Coast Guard helicopter pilot who admitted that she vomits whenever she flies. She just carries a vomit bag and says it’s no big deal.

I admire people who tackle their fears and just move on in spite of them.
