Boston Etiquette
I need to remember my Boston etiquette…
An old fellow held the door for me at a restaurant. I thanked him but he didn’t hear me. So he walked off mumbling what sounded like an Irish curse or worse. So when he sat down I walked over to him and told him I had thanked him, but he must not have heard me. He said alright laddie I forgive ya. Um …
I didn’t think I needed forgiveness, but I do need to work on my Irish thank yous. Something like:
“May a thousand pots o’ gold and endless pints of Guinness rain down upon your lucky head, ye magnificent scoundrel, for without your kindness, I’d be eatin’ shamrocks and chasin’ rainbows!”
